The Yarn Harlot (Stephanie Pearl-McPhee) does a self-imposed sock club each year. She packs a pattern and skein of sock yarn in a bunch of paper bags and puts them in her closet. At the beginning of each month she randomly grabs one, casts on, does 10 rounds per day per sock and ends up with a new pair of socks at the end of the month.

We've decided this is a great idea and we thought we could provide pattern suggestions too. For January there are a couple of suggestions, and I've started a discussion page in our Ravelry group with links to them.

January's pattern suggestions are:

Socks on a plane (free pattern)

Blooming Lavender by Stoneknits (paid pattern)

If you have suggestions for sock patterns for future months, please email communications@hamiltonknitguild.ca so I can include them!
